Grande Prairie Nissan now has the 2027 Nissan Z on the lot, carrying forward Nissan’s two-seat sports car formula with a styling refresh rooted in earlier Z generations and a set of mechanical changes worth noting on their own. Z NISMO adds an available six-speed manual transmission for the first time, paired with lighter GT-R-derived front brake rotors and a suspension retune built around the change. Every 2027 model, across all three grades, also gets a redesigned fuel tank engineered to keep fuel delivery steady during hard cornering. What’s new on the 2027 Nissan Z?
Exterior
A new split grille headlines the 2027 Z’s exterior update, referencing the original 240Z — internally known as the S30 — with a body-colour bar splitting the opening. In place of the Nissan logo, a Z emblem now sits on the nose across every grade, a treatment last used on the S30, S130, Z31, and Z32. Behind that new face, Nissan’s engineers repositioned the front parking sensors to accommodate the grille’s new shape without giving up airflow to the engine.
Performance grade picks up its own hardware update for 2027: redesigned 19-inch forged wheels with black spokes and a machined-finish rim, riding on Bridgestone Potenza tires. Sport and Performance can also be finished in a new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic paint, always paired with a Super Black roof and engineered from fine yellow and blue pigments specifically to resist fading — a useful trait given the long daylight hours of a northern Alberta summer. A light metallic flake in the paint brings out the car’s body lines, and the colour itself traces back to Grand Prix Green, once offered on the original S30.
Interior
The 2027 Z’s cabin keeps its 2-passenger, driver-first layout, built around an 8-inch touchscreen paired with a fully digital TFT gauge cluster. Every grade includes a 3-bay instrument panel readout for turbo boost, turbine speed, and voltmeter, sitting alongside the main digital display. Sport’s 8-way manual driver’s seat comes trimmed in black woven cloth; step up to Performance and the seats move to synthetic suede inserts or full leather, gain heating for the driver, and take on a bolster and cushion shape unique to that grade.
This model year, Performance adds a tan interior to its options list, a nod to the S30’s original colour scheme, set against black trim on the upper dash and doors. NISMO sits above both with leather-and-Alcantara Recaro seats built exclusively for that grade, along with matching NISMO badging throughout the cabin. Turn the key and there’s another change: Sport and Performance now run a startup animation cycling through seven generations of Z, while NISMO keeps its own dedicated sequence and meter graphics.
Powertrain
Every 2027 Z shares a VR30DDTT 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 built around a DOHC layout, direct injection, and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control. In Sport and Performance grades, that engine makes 400 horsepower with 350 lb-ft of torque. NISMO’s tuned version of the same engine reaches 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. A revised fuel tank design for 2027 keeps fuel positioned near the pump during sustained, high-G cornering, a real benefit on the long, open highways connecting the region.
Power routes to the rear wheels from a mid-mounted front engine across the lineup. A 6-speed close-ratio manual with an EXEDY high-performance clutch is standard on Sport, Performance, and NISMO alike, with a 9-speed automatic available on Sport and Performance. The big change for NISMO this year is its own available six-speed manual, engineered with a shorter shift lever ratio, an upgraded clutch, and throttle and ignition tuning calibrated specifically for the manual gearbox. A mechanical limited-slip differential comes standard on both Performance and NISMO.

Infotainment & Audio
Every 2027 Z includes an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming and hands-free calling, Siri Eyes Free, hands-free text messaging, and voice recognition. Sport pairs the screen with a 6-speaker Nissan audio system; Performance and NISMO step up to an 8-speaker Bose system with Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement, both retuned this year to complement the new manual transmission option. NissanConnect, including a WiFi hotspot and NissanConnect Services telematics, rounds out Performance and NISMO grades.
